Udupi: Rs 1.8 lakh worth jewellery robbed from templeUdupi Jul 2:Robbers broke into the ancient Sri Mahalingeshwar temple at Bannanje in the city and decamped with old fashioned silver and goldjewellery and pooja utensils total worth Rs.1.8 lakh in the early hours of today.According to police, the thieves gained entry into the temple by breaking open the door of the temple on northern side and decamped with silver jewellery worth Rs 1.7 lakh, gold ornaments, 'Balimurthy' made of Panchaloha.Senior police official with a sniffer dog squad and finger print experts rushed to the spot.
