Such drains were essential in areas such as Kalsanka, Badagupete, Vidyasamudra Road, Tenkapete and Hotel Brindavan Road, it said.It should take steps to check the spread of malaria in the city, especially in those areas where rain water was clogging.Many important roads in the city were full of potholes. This had affected smooth flow of traffic, the committee said.The potholes on roads were a nuisance for pedestrians. Hence immediate steps should be taken to fill them. The Tenkapete Road, Harishchandra Road, Nivedita Road, Vadiraja Road, Ammanni Ramanna Shetty Hall Road, Kadiyali Road, Badagupete Road, and GundibailRoad needed immediate attention, it said.Many houses and shops in low-lying areas were flooded on July 6 owing to heavy rains. The people living in those areas had suffered huge losses. The CMC should compensate for the damage suffered by the people there, the memorandum said.
